The Quad

The Lake George Quad is a true test of outdoor endurance. We kick trail triathlons up a notch by adding a kayaking portion after the swim. The afterparty and Kid’s Quad make this more than a race. It might just be the best Saturday of the year (as long as your kayak doesn’t spring a leak, Russ).

Last Saturday of every August in Holt, MI.

The Swim

The race begins with a half mile swim in Lake George. Is it really a lake? Or is it a pond or a gravel pit? And who is George, anyway? Just some questions to ponder while you swim two laps!

The Kayak

The kayak is what makes this tri a quad! After a quick run from the Lake George beach it’s into the Grand for a mile upstream and around the famous white log before heading back downstream. It’s easy to get distracted by the beauty of the river and other paddlers whose boats have swamped.

Please provide your own kayak. We might be able to help you if you don’t have one.

The Mountain Bike

From the winding river to the winding trails of Burchfield. This is pretty much the whole mountain biking trail at the park (around 12 miles) so get out there and practice! The trails will be (poorly) marked. Practice rides available in July and August for newbs. Just contact us.

Bring your own mountain bike. We might be able to get you some wheels if you need them.

The Run

It ain’t done till you run! This year’s run will be four beautiful loops on the property with lots of cheering.

Running shoes recommended but whatevs.

The Event

2019 Finishers

The Lake George Quad is more than just a race. Families come together to cheer on competitors. Kid’s get to race in the Kid’s Quad (a much shorter version that doesn’t go on the river or in the park). We tell stories of glory or disaster as we recover with pizza and beer. The whole experience is part of the price for this event that gets better every year!
